Youth Aiding Youth (YAY) is a community based program operating in the Region of Halton, sponsored by Reach Out Centre for Kids.
The goal is to match volunteers, aged 16-24, on a one to one basis with younger children, aged 6-12.
The purpose is to provide an opportunity for special relationships between these children and volunteers which will enrich and promote healthy growth and development, while providing the child with a 'special friend' and role model.
The program offers the volunteers a chance to develop leadership skills, to receive valuable training in human relations and communications, and provides them with an opportunity to volunteer in the community.
